Please visit the Training page to see and learn about the different types of training sessions and services available and to book a training.

The page for each training will have a calendar that shows available appointments and form to book and pay.

All payments are non-refundable but may be used towards another training or transferred to another student.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us or email contact@spectrolitetraining.com, at least 72 hours prior to the date of your appointment.

NOTE: Certain types of sessions require an additional fee to reschedule if notice of cancellation is not given within 72 hours. This will be noted in the description on the specific training page.

Due to the logistics involved in rescheduling, our policy states that you will only be allowed to reschedule once. If you are unable to attend the second date, you will forfeit any payments made.

Depends on the type of training.

For Personal Handgun Coaching:

You must have your own firearm and bring ammunition.

For Private Beginner Training (Intro to Gun Safety & Pistol Course & Beginner Handgun Lesson):

You do not need to own a gun for these classes. We provide firearms for training and ammunition.
You are welcome and encouraged to bring your own firearm if you own one. If your handgun is in a caliber other than .22lr or 9mm, you will need to bring your own ammunition.

We are based out of Berkeley, California.

Depending on the training, live fire is either conducted at an outdoor range in Richmond, CA or an indoor range in San Leandro, CA.

For the Private Intro to Gun Safety & Pistol Course, the Classroom session is conducted at our office in Berkeley, CA.

Prices depend on the type of training. Please see each training page to see the rates and costs.

We teach and train rain or shine. In the event of rain, training will be conducted under a canopy.

We will only reschedule due the weather if the conditions are torrential/extreme or dangerous.

During the fall and winter months, it may be very cold and will sometimes rain. If you’d prefer not to be outside at this time, we recommend waiting until spring or summer to book a session.

We do not offer CCW classes.

However, we have had clients who were undergoing the application process for a CCW and booked Personal Coaching sessions to help prepare for their CCW qualification/range proficiency test.

Note: Many issuing counties and jurisdictions have a list of instructors and courses they have approved to provide the required 16-hour mandatory training. This list can sometimes change. We recommend waiting until you have been instructed to proceed with training by your county before taking a CCW course, to ensure the class you take is accepted by your issuing county/jurisdiction.

In accordance to current state and local health polices and recommendations, masks are not required.

Disposable gloves, cleaning wipes and hand sanitizer is available in the classroom. Surfaces are cleaned and sanitized after each class. Eye and ear protection provided for students is sanitized and sealed after each use.

The office where classroom sessions are conducted is equipped with HEPA air purifiers.
The range where the majority of live fire training is conducted is outdoors.

The instructor is vaccinated, and is happy to will wear a mask and gloves upon request.

Please note, the instructor may need to be physically close at times to provide instruction and ensure safety, as the operation of firearms is inherently dangerous. Safety is the number one priority.
