More Information

Nope! You do not need to own a gun to take this class. We provide handguns you can use and ammunition.

If you do own a handgun, we encourage you to bring it to the lesson so you can train and learn to be proficient with it.

Note: If your handgun is in a caliber other than .22lr or 9mm, you will need to bring your own ammunition.

The lesson begins at our indoor classroom in Berkeley. You will learn the basic gun safety rules, how a semi-automatic pistol works, and the fundamentals of how to shoot one accurately and consistently. There will be hands-on exercises with unloaded handguns in the classroom so you can be comfortable and confidant before going to the range.

This is a completely private class so you will have plenty of time to ask questions and proceed at your own pace and comfort level.

After the classroom session we will head to the outdoor range in Richmond (student will need to have own transportation). It takes approximately 20 minutes to get to the range from the classroom.

At the range, you will be given safety glasses and hearing protection to wear. We will start by reviewing the safe gun handling principles and fundamental shooting techniques. When we begin the actual shooting, the instructor will at your side the whole time, guiding you through through each shot. You’ll receive ongoing coaching and feedback to help you learn to shoot accurately and consistently.
